In September of 2017 my Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It was late September and something changed very quickly. In 3 days time we went from Mom living on her own to going to the hospital and then to the Senior Evaluation unit. She never lived at home again. It was devastating. Alzheimer’s is a brutal disease that affects families in so many ways. I’ve always wanted to help but just wasn’t sure how until now. My Mom was the most caring and giving person I have ever met. She was always there for people that needed help and it was so inspiring to see. So Linda’s Legacy is going to keep that giving spirit alive by helping the families of someone with Alzheimer’s in need. Having someone you love in a memory unit in a nursing home is horrible enough. But unfortunately, that is just where it begins. The family is under so much stress it is actually hard to put into words. Dealing with finances, the house, all of the belongings in the house, storing things, and maybe worst of all is dealing with Medicare. We were lucky in a way that we had funds for private pay in the beginning. So we were able to buy clothes and pay some bills and make sure everything was taken care of. But there are so many families that need help. And so my goal is to help as many families as possible. I know our first thoughts go to those that live with this dreaded disease and deservedly so. But I also want to remind us not to forget their families and all that they are put through as well. I know how overwhelmed these families feel and I want to help as much as I can. Please help me by passing this along to all of your friends. I have included a donate button at the bottom and that money goes to helping Alzheimer’s families in need. Also, please check out our products page which has T-Shirts and other items specifically for Alzheimer’s and Linda’s Legacy. Thank you so much for all of your support.
